How soon should I begin my search for a rental home on the Monterey Peninsula?

One to two months in advance is usually sufficient time to find something that will meet your needs. If you have specific qualifications for your next home, such as hardwood floors or a wood-burning fireplace, you may want to begin your search a little earlier. We rent more properties in the summer than in the winter, so if you are moving in the summer, please be aware that the search for rental property is more competitive at that time of year.
